Reception in the Art Studio

Welcome to the summer term! The children in Reception are thrilled to be back with their friends and have got straight back into their learning and exploring.

The week started with a wonderful visit to the art studio to take part in a collaborative piece of work in preparation for our art exhibition later in the month. Mrs Waller taught the children how to use their paintbrushes in a sweeping action to create the background for the field of summer flowers on the biggest canvas the children had ever seen. They studied pictures of summer flowers, talked about the shapes and colours, and then used the chalks to create their own flowers on paper. The children are looking forward to returning to the art studio next week to see the progress of the piece. Great job, Reception.
